As I said when we signed him, he immediately became our best player of the last 10-12 years the moment he signed.
He is the best central midfielder not playing in a European competition this season and probably the best midfielder outside of Chelsea and Angel di Maria in English football.
Why the hell weren't Arsenal or Liverpool after him?!

An absolute coup of a signing in the summer ~ probably the best signing of a very good lot
I couldn't believe that when the news broke that he might be coming to us there were people saying that he wasn't all that or were not even excited at the prospect that he might be signing for us
The most complete & class midfielder we've had in our side for many a year
Outstanding today & yet improving with every game

I didn't think he would be a good signing (the moodiness could still happen) but he is turning into our most important player.
His insistence on playing football, no matter where or under any amount of pressure, is forcing the other players to do the same. In a nice way, they are intimidated by his past career and not only allow him tv play football and take chances, but copy suit.

Excellent player and has improved as he's got more games...
Sometimes worrying as he occasionally takes risks in or around our penalty area...overelaboration...
Great to have in MF...his quality and maturity have surprised me...sad he was wasted at Barca...but he can rise to the heights with us ...

He is a different class. I was really surprised we managed to get him because of his quality, but he's been even better than I expected. One of the very best in his position in the world.

Maybe arsenal WERE interested, and Alex told them to do one. He at last had a chance to follow in his uncle Rigobert's footsteps.
He wanted to be a Hammer all along. He just had to pay his dues with the gooners and barcs first, which you can't really criticise him for.

I bet Sullivan is working on the contract now as the bloke should be in a side with European football.
Our new captain I would imagine if he signs it and I don't care what it it takes to sign him. He would fucking walk into the Arsenal side right now, it's amazing they weren't interested.
